Episode 8 - DIY

To participate in any of the giveaways mentioned in the podcast, please join the Ravelry group. One of the prizes for the Children's KAL is this handspan yarn that I purchased at Garden State Sheep and Wool a few years ago:

If you introduce yourself in the Ravelry group between now and the next podcast, you could win 2 skeins of Takhi Cora Naturals yarn, so go introduce yourself!

I mention Martine's Creative Me podcast when I announce the winner of her ME box. You should go listen!

Here's the Linto Cowl by Andrea Davis of This Knitted Life:

Here's my progress on the Grandma's Flower Garden shall from Clothesline Designs - the pattern should be released in the next week or so:

I also mentioned a book I won called All About Knitting that I won from Marie Sugars of the Undergroundcrafter blog.

If you live in Texas, you should visit Threads that Bind for all your cross stitch needs! I purchased a Country Cottage Needleworks design for my daughter - here's my progress as of today:

I mentioned these 2 cross stitch finds at local thrift stores. Cannot wait to stitch up those little mice!

I mention Erin Spain's How to Paint Furniture - A Beginner's Guide in the DIY segment. I will write a separate blog post when I finish my dresser, but I haven't deviated from these directions.  Here's what my dresser looked like before I started:

And here it is after painting but before sealing because I don't want to blow up my house:

I also mention removing paint from metal handles using your crockpot. Here's a before pic (you can see the results in the episode image at the top of this post):

Finally, if you're interested in the new Beth Moore study, Entrusted, you can purchase the study book at Lifeway.com. If you preorder by August 15th, you'll also receive free scripture memory cards. For information about the study, please check out the Ravelry group. I intend to start around September 7th depending upon when I receive my book!

... and here's the theme song for this episode!

On Tuesdays, I link up with Nicole and Keep Calm Craft On.  On Wednesdays, I participate in the Yarn Along on Ginny Sheller's blog.  Please join us either by contributing a link to your fibery work in progress and current read and / or by checking out the posts to the link parties.  You may find your next book or project waiting for you!
